Day-by-Day Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can rest or take a short walk around the lively streets of Thamel. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today you explore the cultural highlights of the valley. Visit the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most important Hindu temples, and the magnificent Boudhanath Stupa, a center of Tibetan Buddhism. Continue to Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) for panoramic views, and explore Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Flight to Lhasa. Upon arrival, meet your Tibetan guide and transfer to your hotel. Rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Drink plenty of water and avoid exertion.

Yes. In addition to a Chinese visa, all travelers need a Tibet Travel Permit to enter Tibet. This is arranged in advance through Hiking Friends Travel Nepal. Independent travel is not allowed, so you must travel with an organized tour.
The journey reaches high elevations, especially in Lhasa (3650m) and near Mount Everest (up to 5000m+). Proper acclimatization days are included, but some travelers may still feel mild altitude symptoms. Staying hydrated and taking it easy helps a lot.
Access to the main Everest Base Camp on the Tibetan side is restricted. However, you can reach close to it via eco-bus and enjoy incredible views from near Rongbuk Monastery, which offers one of the best viewpoints of Everest’s north face.
The best seasons are from April to June and September to October, when the weather is stable and skies are clear for mountain views, especially around Yamdrok Lake and Everest region.
In cities like Lhasa and Kathmandu, you’ll stay in comfortable hotels. In remote areas such as Rongbuk, accommodation is basic guesthouse style with limited facilities, but the location near Mount Everest makes it a unique experience.
