This overland journey takes you from Nepal into Tibet via the Kerung border, crossing dramatic Himalayan landscapes, high-altitude plateaus, and ancient spiritual sites. Carefully designed for acclimatization, this route offers a safer and more comfortable way to experience Kailash and Manasarovar.
Organized by Hiking Friends Travel Nepal, this trip ensures full support from Kathmandu to Kathmandu, including permits, Tibetan guide, transport, and accommodation.
🏔️ Why Choose This Route?
The Kerung overland route is one of the most preferred ways to reach Kailash because:
It offers better acclimatization compared to Lhasa flights
It is more cost-effective and flexible
It provides a direct land connection from Nepal
It allows a gradual altitude gain for safety
🧘 Spiritual Significance
Mount Kailash is sacred to multiple religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon. Circumambulating the mountain (Kora) is believed to cleanse lifetimes of karma.
